Nestle to Spend $487M on Sustainable Coffee Supply Chain: Environmental Leader
Nestle is planning on investing approximately $487 million dollars on responsible farming, sourcing and consumption across its coffee supply chain. Since Nestle buys about 10% of the world’s supply of green coffee every year, the company plans on doubling the amount of coffee it buys directly from farmers. Also, they plan to establish demonstration farms showing best practices, and reduce the environmental footprint of their production factories, all by 2015.
